Child Protection ProcedudresAll of our staff have been given police clearance to work with children.
All staff is level 2, 3 or 4 qualified although we may have some students attending these sessions. On the day of the booking all parents/guardians will be required to sign a collection document to ensure that children are only collected by themselves or a nominated adult. No other adults will be allowed to enter the crèche. We reserve the right not to accept any child who, in our opinion, is not well enough to take part in the crèche. While we understand that parents of very young children may wish to periodically check on little ones, we would ask that they do so discreetly so as not to cause upset or disruption. In the event of a large crèche, parents will be issued with ticket numbers and the same number will be entered on to the consent form. On return, you must show this ticket so that we can ensure that the right person is collecting the right child. |
Behavior Policies and Equal OpportunitiesIt is not our policy to exclude disruptive children from the crèche. Challenging behaviour will be dealt with patiently through distraction and redirection techniques and one to one “buddying”. Where continued disruptive behaviour prevents others from enjoying themselves or poses a safety issue, a parent/guardian will be asked to collect them.
In line with our Equal Opportunities Policy, no child will be excluded on the grounds of race, religion or class We will endeavour our best to include a disabled child where venue and staffing permits. Children with any additional needs are included where possible. Some of our qualified members of staff have extensive experience of working with disabled children. We will always try to accommodate last minute children as long as staff levels allow this within OFSTED guidelines. Payment for unforeseen additional numbers will be payable on the day. Leaving your child in the care of someone else is a major decision and responsibility so it is worth taking time to consider what you require and where your child would be provided in a safe and caring environment.
